The RHX2 is a series of VVX controllers for speed control of rotary heat exchangers. It replaces the traditional solutions with frequency converters and geared motors. RHX2 is engineered for direct drive solutions. Thus reducing the life cycle cost drastically through reduced maintenance and reduced wear and tear. Designed for installation directly on the rotary heat exchanger housing the RHX2 is easy to install and commission. It is even supplied with the motor wired and pluggable to the controller.
The RHX2 series has been developed to give our costumers an advantageous combination of high quality, accurate control at any speed and low life cycle costs. |

FUNCTIONS |

|
High torque at low speed Due to the use of stepping motors in place of geared motors it is possible to obtain a sufficiently high torque at low speed increasing the speed range and thereby the achieved energy saving. |

Self-Protection The built-in short-circuit protection of inputs and outputs combined with the IP43 or IP54 housing, secures the durability of the RHX2. |

|
Application-oriented features All the functions relevant to optimise the operation of a rotary heat exchanger have been included in the RHX2. These include:
- Adjustable compensation for the unlinear heat transmission from the rotary heat exchanger.
- Purging of the Rotary heat exchanger
- Maximum revolutions and rotational direction is changed with a simple jumper setting.
- Automatic stop and start.

Serial Communications The RHX2 series is standard equipped with a RS485 port for communication with the OJ Air AHU master controller.
When using the RS485 connection it is possible to adjust all factory set parameters, i.e. adapting the linearisation of the heat transfer to the actual physics of the wheel. Or allowing the end-user to adjust purging intervals, so they interfere the least with daily use of the building and still clean the wheel sufficiently. |

Rotation Guard The RHX2 has a standard input for rotation guard, both suited for reed switch and hall element. The input has a 15VDC voltage supply with an internal pull-up resistor of 1.1 kO. |

 Mounting of the controller The controller is designed for mounting both inside and outside the casing of the rotary heat exchanger, using the factory mounted motor cable to connect the controller to the motor. For long motor cables please contact Brunton Electronics or your local distributor. |

 Mounting of the motor The motor should be mounted in the bottom of the rotary heat exchanger casing. The motor is delivered for flange mounting with a 12mm axis. |
